Charles was born on December 13, 1916 in Elizabeth, NJ. He served in the Unites States Army in WWII from 1942 through 1945 as a parts automotive clerk for the motor pool. He worked for FMC for 22 years and Union Carbide for 20 years. During the time he was in the Army, met my grandmother Henrietta and they were wed on March 21,1942. Together they moved to Toms River, NJ in 1961 we they spent there lives together. Charles and Henrietta had 3 children Bruce, Gail and William. Charles also has 5 grandchildren John, Robert, Patrick, Jackie and Amanda and has 3 great grandchildren Charles, Owen and Delaney. Charles and his family loved taking cross country trips and camping. Charles was a very avid bowler, I guess you could say bowling was his life! He was County Secretary of the Ocean County Bowling Association for 45 years. He was the past President of the NJ State Bowling Association and NJSBA Hall of Fame member. He made many friends throughout his time with the OCBA and loved every minute of "making his rounds" every day and going to the coffee shop. He lived a long and happy life and I was blessed to call him my grandfather.
